Woozi

Lee Jihoon, known by his stage name Woozi, is the main vocalist, producer, and Vocal Unit leader of SEVENTEEN. Born on November 22, 1996, in Daejeon, South Korea, he joined Pledis Entertainment as a trainee around age 15 and debuted with SEVENTEEN in May 2015. At 165 cm, he is the group's shortest member, but this physical contrast with his outsized musical talent and forceful personality has become one of K-pop's most celebrated ironies.

Woozi is SEVENTEEN's primary creative architect. He has composed, written, and produced the overwhelming majority of the group's Korean discography, a level of creative ownership extraordinarily rare in the K-pop industry. His work began with "Adore U," written at just 18 years old, and has evolved through over a decade of increasingly sophisticated productions spanning hip-hop, R&B, pop, and experimental genres. This producer role gives SEVENTEEN the self-producing credibility that fundamentally distinguishes them from most idol groups.

As the Vocal Unit leader and main vocalist, Woozi anchors some of SEVENTEEN's most emotionally resonant performances. Woozi enlisted for active duty military service on September 15, 2025, alongside Hoshi who enlisted one day later, with an expected discharge date of March 14, 2027.
