Kim Mingyu is a sub-rapper, vocalist, and official visual of SEVENTEEN. Born on April 6, 1997, in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, he joined Pledis Entertainment as a trainee around age 15 and debuted with SEVENTEEN in May 2015. At 187 cm, he is the group's tallest member — a physical presence that, combined with classically striking features, made him one of SEVENTEEN's most immediately recognizable faces.

Within the Hip-hop Unit, Mingyu contributes as a sub-rapper, adding a smooth, melodic flow that complements S.Coups and Wonwoo's harder styles.
