Kim Tae-hyung, known by his stage name V, is a vocalist and visual of BTS. Born on December 30, 1995, in Daegu, South Korea, he was a "hidden member" during BTS's pre-debut period — fans didn't know he existed until the group's official debut on June 13, 2013. His deep, rich baritone voice and striking visuals quickly set him apart in the K-pop landscape.

V's vocal color is one of BTS's most distinctive elements. His deep, husky tone — unusual in an industry that tends to favor higher registers — adds warmth and depth to the group's harmonies. Solo tracks like "Stigma," "Singularity," and "Inner Child" showcase his jazz, neo-soul, and indie pop influences, revealing an artist with eclectic musical taste.

Beyond music, V has explored acting, starring in the historical drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-2017). He is also recognized as a fashion icon and art enthusiast, frequently sharing his photography and paintings. His friendship circle, the "Wooga Squad" (including actors Park Seo-joon and Choi Woo-shik), has become one of the most famous celebrity friend groups in South Korea.

V released his debut solo album Layover in September 2023, a mellow jazz-pop project featuring the singles "Slow Dancing" and "Love Me Again." The album reflected his personal musical tastes — intimate, understated, and heavily influenced by vintage R&B and jazz. He completed his military service in June 2025.
