Jungkook

Jeon Jung-kook, known mononymously as Jungkook, is the main vocalist, lead dancer, and maknae (youngest member) of BTS. Born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea, he auditioned for the reality show Superstar K3 at age 13. Though he didn't advance far, he received casting offers from seven entertainment companies and chose Big Hit Entertainment after being inspired by watching RM.

Dubbed the "Golden Maknae" for his all-around talent, Jungkook is considered one of the most versatile performers in K-pop. His powerful, clear vocals anchor many of BTS's biggest hits, from "Spring Day" to "Dynamite" to "Butter." He is equally skilled as a dancer, and his ability to rap, produce music, film content, and excel at sports has made the "Golden" moniker a defining part of his identity.

In 2023, Jungkook launched his solo career with a series of massive singles. "Seven" (feat. Latto) debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with the largest streaming week of any song that year. He followed with "3D" (feat. Jack Harlow) and his debut solo album GOLDEN in November 2023, featuring "Standing Next to You," a retro funk-pop track that showcased his Michael Jackson-influenced performance style.

Jungkook performed "Dreamers" at the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar, becoming the first K-pop solo artist to perform at a World Cup ceremony. He enlisted for military service alongside Jimin in December 2023, completing his service in June 2025.
