Jin

Kim Seok-jin, known mononymously as Jin, is the eldest member and a vocalist and visual of BTS. Born on December 4, 1992, in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, he originally studied acting at Konkuk University before being scouted by Big Hit Entertainment. His striking visuals and warm personality quickly endeared him to fans, and he famously coined the phrase "Worldwide Handsome" — a self-introduction that became iconic.

Within BTS, Jin's clear, stable tenor voice provides an emotional anchor on many of the group's ballads and pop tracks. Songs like "Epiphany," "Awake," and "Moon" showcase his vocal range and ability to convey deep emotion. Despite joining as an acting student with limited musical training, he developed into a confident performer through years of dedication.

Jin's humor and charisma have made him one of the most beloved variety show personalities in K-pop. His "Eat Jin" mukbang series, dad jokes, and playful interactions with members have generated countless viral moments. He is known for his fearless approach to comedy and his ability to lighten any situation.

Jin was the first BTS member to begin mandatory military service in December 2022, completing it in June 2024. He released his debut solo album Happy in November 2024, featuring the lead single "Running Wild," a bright pop track celebrating the joy of freedom and new beginnings.
