Suga

Min Yoon-gi, known by his stage names Suga and Agust D, is the lead rapper and a key producer of BTS. Born on March 9, 1993, in Daegu, South Korea, he began writing lyrics and producing beats as a teenager, drawn to hip-hop as an emotional outlet. He was active in the Daegu underground rap scene under the name "Gloss" before joining Big Hit Entertainment.

As Suga, he brings a raw, introspective lyricism to BTS that addresses mental health, societal pressure, and personal struggle with unflinching honesty. Tracks like "The Last," "First Love," and "Seesaw" reveal a deeply personal artist unafraid to confront depression, self-doubt, and the cost of ambition. As a producer, he has shaped BTS's musical direction, contributing to the production of numerous albums.

Under his solo moniker Agust D, Suga has released three projects: Agust D (2016), D-2 (2020), and D-DAY (2023). The Agust D trilogy chronicles his journey from an angry young rapper to a mature artist at peace with himself. D-DAY featured the title track "Haegeum," which critiqued societal constraints, and was supported by his first solo world tour.

Suga completed his military service in June 2025, returning to BTS group activities. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented producer-rappers in K-pop, with credits spanning BTS's discography and collaborations with artists like Halsey, IU, Juice WRLD, and MAX.
