Yuqi

Song Yuqi was born on September 23, 1999, in Shanghai, China. She traveled to South Korea to pursue a career as a K-pop idol, joining Cube Entertainment's trainee program and debuting as a member of (G)I-DLE on May 2, 2018. As the group's primary Chinese-speaking member, Yuqi has played an important role in bridging (G)I-DLE's appeal across Korean and Chinese entertainment markets, developing a substantial fanbase in mainland China and among Chinese-speaking communities globally.

As a vocalist and rapper, Yuqi brings an energetic and versatile performance quality to (G)I-DLE's live stages. Her tone is assertive and distinctive, and she frequently takes on dynamic rap verses that complement Soyeon's production style.
