Jennie

Kim Jennie, known mononymously as Jennie, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and the main rapper and lead vocalist of BLACKPINK. Born on January 16, 1996, in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, she spent part of her childhood studying in Auckland, New Zealand, before returning to South Korea and joining YG Entertainment as a trainee at age 14.

Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK in August 2016 and quickly distinguished herself with her versatile performance style, seamlessly switching between powerful rap verses and melodic vocal sections. Her charismatic stage presence and fashion-forward image earned her the nickname "Human Chanel," and she became a global ambassador for the luxury house in 2017.

In November 2018, Jennie became the first BLACKPINK member to debut as a solo artist with the single "SOLO," which topped domestic charts and became one of the most-viewed K-pop solo music videos. She followed up with "You & Me" in 2023, further establishing her individual artistic identity.

In 2025, Jennie released her debut full album RUBY through her own label Odd Atelier, featuring the title track "Like Jennie" and collaborations with Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, and Doechii. The album debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, marking a new chapter in her career as an independent artist.
