Bang Chan

Bang Chan, born Christopher Bang on October 3, 1997 in Seoul, South Korea, is the leader and a multi-talented producer, vocalist, rapper, and dancer of Stray Kids. He spent much of his childhood in Sydney, Australia, which shaped his fluency in English and gave him a multicultural perspective that he channels through his artistry. He auditioned for JYP Entertainment during an open audition in Sydney and became a trainee at age 13, spending approximately six years honing his craft before debuting with the group in March 2018.

As a founding member of the self-producing unit 3RACHA (with Changbin and Han), Bang Chan has been central to Stray Kids' identity as a group that writes, composes, and produces the majority of its own music. Under the alias CB97, he has co-produced virtually every Stray Kids album and has been the driving force behind the group's emotionally raw, genre-blending sound. His production style blends heavy electronic bass with genuine emotional vulnerability, creating music that resonates deeply with fans worldwide.

Beyond the studio, Bang Chan is known for his warm, genuine personality and his dedication to the group's fanbase, STAY. He hosts a weekly live stream series called "Chan's Room," where he plays fan-submitted music, shares personal stories, and creates an intimate connection that goes beyond typical idol-fan relationships. This consistency and openness have made him one of the most beloved leaders in fourth-generation K-pop.

Bang Chan was a backup dancer for fellow JYP artists GOT7 before Stray Kids debuted, giving him invaluable performance experience. As Stray Kids has grown into one of the most successful K-pop groups in the world, Bang Chan's leadership, musical vision, and genuine connection with fans have been widely credited as foundational to their success.
