Yujin

An Yu-jin, known by her stage name Yujin, was born on September 1, 2003, in Dunsan-dong, Seo District, Daejeon, South Korea. Growing up in Daejeon, she showed an early passion for performance and relocated to Seoul to pursue her idol training. Despite a debilitating level of short-sightedness that left her nearly legally blind, her physical coordination and drive for performance remained undimmed from childhood. She joined Starship Entertainment as a trainee in December 2016 while in the 8th grade.

After approximately one year and four months of training, Yujin was selected to compete on Mnet's survival program Produce 48 in 2018, where she ranked 5th in the final episode and debuted as a member of the South Korean-Japanese project group IZ*ONE. She spent two and a half years as a member of IZ*ONE (October 2018 – April 2021), performing across Japan and South Korea and developing a substantial following. Following IZ*ONE's disbandment, she returned to Starship and continued training in preparation for her next group.

Yujin was revealed as the third member of IVE on November 2, 2021, and debuted with the group on December 1, 2021, with the single album "ELEVEN." She serves as IVE's leader, main vocalist, and main dancer. Under her leadership IVE became one of the fastest-rising fourth-generation girl groups, winning multiple awards including the Grand Prize at the Melon Music Awards. Her Earth Arcade web variety performance showcased her dual role as a charismatic dancer and a capable leader who keeps team morale high.

Known for her energetic and outgoing personality, Yujin is often described as the group's energizer. She is famous for her trademark high-energy expressions and surprisingly candid sense of humor. Despite her achievements, she maintains a relatable image — famously confessing she only learned to tie her shoelaces properly after debuting and never mastered swimming. She is a skilled pianist and excels in sports, particularly running.
